20 Years After Grunge and Where is the Celebration of Women?

Lately, on the radio I've heard an excess of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, Live, and all of those grunge-era bands.  I've realized this is due to the recent 20 year passage of grunge and revisiting the impact it has had on our culture.  That's cool and all, but I have yet to hear Hole, who was HUGE during that time, or any of the other girl bands that were playing during the 90's.

So in honor of the grunge era girl bands that are getting over-looked by mainstream radio, I'm featuring a few 90's girl bands or bands with a girl in them that were on MTV and radio back in the hey day of 90's rock bands.

Hole, Doll Parts

Garbage, Stupid Girl

Veruca Salt, Seether

Luscious Jackson, Naked Eye

Elastica, Connection

I have read some articles highlighting the impact of riot grrrl, which is great, but riot grrrl was an underground movement.  Women in mainstream rock should be recognized too.
